I am a freelance journalist and editor and have worked on international publications in London and Tokyo. In 2002 I moved to Japan "for a year" and had such a great time, I ended up staying for seven. There is a book or two to be written in those years, let me tell you! In Tokyo I was the editor of the longest serving expat magazine, The Weekender and worked alongside a women's expat publication Being A Broad. When not trying to hit deadlines, I studied Japanese, became a self pronounced expert on Japanese foods through nights spent at hundreds of izakayas and also spent a lot of time traveling throughout Asia or wherever else I could get a flight to. Feeding into this love of travel and international living, I now specialise in travel, women's travel, expat, culture, international news, Japan and Asia. Back in London I worked as the editor of a series of London tourist guides while continuing to write for various travel publications. I'm a bit of an all rounder on an editorial team, from proofreading, through design, building websites and marketing campaigns—give me a role and I've done it. I am now working freelance and am continually receiving great projects and writing some fascinating features.I am always happy to receive or talk through new projects. Drop me a line and I guarantee you a friendly and positive response.
